Dementia at the movies
13.6.21 Yasha suggested we all go see a movie as it had been awhile since we had all been out together. The only movie Gil and I were curious to see was ‘The Father’, about a daughter’s challenges with her father who is in denial of his progressing dementia. The film gives the audience an insight into his confused inner world. A solution to 'not exploding'
Since my earlier post 'I exploded today. Poor mum', I've been brainstorming solutions to help stop mum from taking her nappy off at night and flooding the bed. Celina ordered two cute pussycat onesies for mum. We thought that if she's all zipped up, she'll forget about removing her nappies. Last night was the trial and in the morning she was still wearing the onesies with nappies intact. Great success! 8pm. Off to bed Midnight. Sound asleep 9am. Good Morning... Success!

Who's wearing my clothes again?
12.5.2 Mum’s put herself to bed for an afternoon sleep. She’s been resting for a couple of hours and it’s time to get her up. I pull back the doona and laugh out loud. She’s wearing the clothes I had set out to wear later on - a cosy cardigan that had belonged to dad, and a knitted vest that I hadn’t worn in a long time. Now mum’s wearing both the cardigan and the vest. I would probably get annoyed if someone had entered my room and snitched my clothes - but it’s a whole diff
