The Cycle of Life

Dec 2017.

In the summer of 2017 Sunny & Mia came to visit for less then a week. Even though it was so short, we had a wonderful time and Mia got to hang out with her uncles Coby and Gil and with Coby’s girlfriend Bee, and especially with mum (and me!).

Of course I grabbed the rare opportunity that 4 generations of us females were together, and produced a little video where we sing mum’s favourite song Que Sera Sera.

Each of us sings a verse that reflects her stage of life, and the overall cycles of Womanhood.

These are the words:

Mia: Now I am just a little girl, I ask my mother how should I be? I’d like to be humble, I’d like to be kind. Here’s what she says to me: Que sera sera Whatever will be, will be The future’s not ours to see, Que sera sera What will be, will be.

Sunny: Now I have children of my own, I ask my mummy what lies ahead Will I have answers to help guide their way? Here’s what my mother said: Que sera sera Whatever will be, will be The future’s not ours to see, Que sera sera What will be, will be.

Jane: Now I have grandkids of my own, And care for my mother who’s now 93. How can I be there to help them along? Here’s what they say to me: Que sera sera Whatever will be, will be Que sera sera What will be, will be.

Marysia: Now I am old, so very old, I ask my daughter to stay close to me. Stay a little bit longer A little bit closer, These last moments are precious to me. Que sera sera Whatever will be, will be The future’s not ours to see, Que sera sera What will be, will be.
